Just as the recent storm tore through the north-west the night before, the home side swept United aside at the their home ground. It was a statement three-nil triumph for the City coach's side owing to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a performance that clearly signaled their title credentials as they consolidated their position at the top of the table.

Consecutive Losses for United

This result marked back-to-back league losses for the United manager's side for the initial occasion since May 2024, placing them a sizable gap off the table toppers with their championship aspirations in serious doubt.
